Singer-songwriter Abi Muir, dubbed by LA music blog Cage Riot as “one of the most thrilling and magnetic young voices in pop” delivers "an exhilarating display of powerhouse vocals and fierce pop precision" (Review article June 2025)

Abi Muir is an independent alt-pop singer-songwriter who transforms raw emotion and unapologetic storytelling into cinematic, hook-filled melodies. Described as “a tropical breeze in the music world – refreshing, soothing, and utterly enjoyable to listen to” (PopRock Radio) her unique voice and memorable music moves effortlessly between intimate ballads and bold, dynamic pop. Abi crafts songs that speak to the messy truth of love: heartbreak, obsession, resilience and self-empowerment. It's music for those who love too hard, think too much & feel everything; for those who need to scream out loud driving in their car, and cry quietly into their pillows at night. At the heart of Abi’s artistry lies vulnerability and purpose - evocative alt-pop from an over-feeling empath, forever caught between overstimulation and stillness, navigating a world too loud, too quiet, and never quite enough. Caught between silence and chaos, Abi turns emotional overload into melody - music for hearts that bruise too easily.

At just 21, Abi has already built an impressive resume of performance awards and industry recognition that cement her place as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging pop artists.
She has received international recognition as an Unsigned Only winner for Vocal Performance, and, with her first foray into alt-pop-rock with her song Stockholm, she took out the John Lennon Award in the Rock category of the John Lennon Song Writing Contest.
Closer to home she has been a Queensland Music Award Finalist for two consecutive years, has won the Understory Film Festival Best Music Video for First Date, and has been the recipient of a Regional Arts Development major grant.

Recently Abi has embraced a bold, unapologetic pop direction in collaboration with Tokyo-based producer Ghostpops releasing a string of singles, including her Mimi Webb inspired Blueprint and her "defiant celebration of personal worth" (A&R Factory) in On One Knee. With a knack for connecting to others through genuine emotions of love and heartache (Amplify the Noise) she has opened for ARIA Award-winner Dami Im at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, for Drax Project, Slowly Slowly and Teenage Joans at the Tanks Arts Centre. She has has headlined the Queensland Music Festival Tropics Muster and graced stages at Airlie Beach Festival of Music, Stratford Sounds, the Tablelands Folk Festival, Cairns Festival, Gladstone Music Festival, & the Agnes Waters Blues Roots & Rock Festival. Internationally, she showcased her poignant ballad I Forgot About Me at the legendary Exit/Inn in Nashville.
With this successful run of singles Waxx Lyrical stated "Why Abi isn't leading the Aussie pop zeitgeist with tracks like this is beyond belief".
Abi was born in Scotland & grew up on the tiny Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, where her love for music & movement first took root. She began training as a Highland dancer at just three years old, developing an early sense of rhythm & musicality. After relocating to Australia with her family in 2015, she expanded her artistic expression through hip hop dance & stage performance. Her passion for singing emerged after joining the school choir, where she overcame severe stage fright to earn a coveted role as a Featured & Solo Vocalist at Creative Generation State Schools Onstage 2019. Performing in the Great Hall of the Brisbane Exhibition & Conference Centre fuelled her desire to pursue music professionally & that same year, she released her debut single Heebiejeebies, launching her career as a songwriter.
When asked to describe her sound, Abi explains:
"If a dreamy pop fairy had a baby with a witty (often heartbroken) lover girl, & that baby sang twenty harmonies at a time over a catchy yet emotionally charged pop/R&B beat - that’s the vibe. Music is my passion. It drives me, heals me, & feels like the blood in my veins. If you could see my aura, it would be made of harmonies constantly vibrating. I believe music is what I was put on this earth to do, & it would be a waste of my time to do anything else."
